J11Tac , Feb 20, Forster46 , Feb 20, I checked with Cabelas corporate and they said the policy is decided by each individual store manager. I called and spoke to the manager here and he said they allow legal concealed carry with out any questions.
He said they want you to unload and check your gun if you plan on checking its fit with a holster or to trade it in etc. I told him their sign at the check in station was a little misleading and looks like they want all guns checked and he replied that he could see how it might look like that but that they do allow legal concealed carry.
You might check state laws, in Nevada, you dont have to obey any sign a business has up prohibiting guns, all they can do is all you to leave. The only places you have to obey are court houses, and federal buildings and such.
My husband and I have had this discussion before If you are a CC licensed individual Ban you from going into their store again? Oohh big whooopie!! And if you essentially 'save the day' - would they seriously press charges on you? But ultimately, it's your choice to carry Janster , Feb 20, Agreed with Jan. JimBeam , Feb 20, You are supposed to obey the signs here. In the past I have mailed copies of reciepts to store managers of purchases I have made at their competitors who dont have the no gun policies.

So long as they allow me to keep my sig attached to my side I'm alright with the policy. It'll actually be my first time OC'ing, other than around my house. If they give me any problems I'll be sure to let them know what I've learned from this site. On second thought maybe I'll have the XD in a case or something, since walking into the store with an unholstered firearm probably isn't a great idea.
Got a boy and his dad staring at us as we're walking up to the entrance. Walked up to a worker and said I needed to find a new holster. She took me to the side while telling me the gun on my side needed to stay holstered.
The lady had no idea how to check the chamber, so she had me do it for her. I showed her how I did it so maybe next time she'll be more comfortable. She put a trigger lock on and then called for someone to escort me. During the 5 minute wait two Hammond LEO's strolled in.
They walked over near the registers, minding their own business. The older gentleman was hopeing for cute girl escorted us upstairs where he took off the trigger lock and then walked us over to the holsters. After not being able to decide, I told him I'll have to think and come back and get what I decided on. So he placed my XD with the trigger lock back on back partway into my IWB, and placed that on the counter behind the sales counter.
As he was walking away he said to come get him when I'm done shopping around. After shopping around we couldn't find him, so we found a cute girl to walk us down. Once downstairs she went to sign me out and found out the old guy never signed me in.
Asked for my name, but never asked to see my ID to very my name. Thought that read gander I'm while I can't say for certain I'm sure cabelas is the same thing. Any chain store that services guns has that kind of sign. Unless it's new, the one in ft worth doesn't have a sign. And my wife took her chl class there. Typical employee that doesn't know what's going on. They heard gun and automatically defaulted to that answer. I have seen them do this if you are taking a gun in to sell, but I dont think it applys to the concealed wepons.
That is what I was thinking. Nebraska has some pretty Leftist gun laws, especially when carrying, so it wouldn't surprise me if NEBRASKA didn't allow you to carry concealed in a department store of any kind. Sounds like a great place for an open carry rally so that we can loose our ability to carry there. No Cabelas Doesn't Gander Mountain have the same signs that say all weapons must be checked in at the front counter?
That may be correct. We're hot shotting to Deadwood this weekend thru Sydney Nebraska and will stop at the original Cabelas. I believe we've had to leave the "Instant Po Po" in the truck there in the past. Their business their rules. No , I am not worrying about it. In no way can they legally ask you to "sign in" if you are a CHL carrier Worth store last week, sign didn't pertain to CHL the way I read it. Disclose that I'm carrying concealed? Yeah, that's not gonna happen. Should calm a lot of unhappy TBH'rs down lol.
Another good reason to not shop at any Cabelas! So are we boycotting or not? I got my torches and pitch forks ready! Much smoke, no fire Conceal it and shut up!
I didn't read this thread From Cabelas web page! If you have a concealed carry permit and it is valid within the state where the store is located, Cabela's honors your right to carry as long as it is completely concealed.
